As we conclude this school year, As-Sabeel is already looking ahead to 2021-2022. We invite rising 3rd – 8th graders who love reading to join our Elementary and Middle School Book Clubs.

Book Club participants read books outside of school from a provided list (for a copy of the book list, email Mrs. Christie at [email protected]). We meet bi-weekly to review the books we’ve read and prepare for the Battle of the Books Competition. Alhamdulilah, our school has been very successful, having qualified (in 2019, 2020, 2021) and won (in 2019 and in 2021) the SCISA State Battle of the Books competition over the past two years. We’d love to continue this tradition.

If you’d like to join Book Club in 2021-2022, your work starts now! You will need to read a minimum of 8 books from the attached list over the summer and before September 1st. You will then be assigned new books to read. It is important that you read the books on your list (rising 3rd – 5th graders are the elementary list and rising 6th – 8th graders use the middle school list).

Please note that As-Sabeel Academy does not choose the books on the list; rather they are provided to us by SCISA who holds the competition. Many of the books are available through the library (many can even be checked out electronically). There is always Amazon, too! Please let me know if you have any questions about Book Club.
